Air Con

Yes -  For those who find the humidity difficult to handle or prefer a chalet that has real windows and less open to the elements.

Hot Water / Showers

Our Labamba chalets have hot water showers. For those nights after a storm when there is a 'chill' in the air, after diving, - or for the ladies who really appreciate a hot shower to wash hair.

We will shortly have chalets with air con and hot water - ask about these.

Mosquito’s

They can be a nuisance at certain times, but we provide mosquito nets in our chalets that are not fully sealed and mosquito coils in the rooms.

Note: our mosquitoes do not carry malaria or dengue fever.

Sandflies

These can be a nuisance – to some people more than others. We provide home made organic Sandfly oil in the rooms for free which prevents bites. We recommend bringing Vitamin B tablets and taking one a day. This reduces both Sandfly and Mosquito bites.

For those who react to insect bites we recommend loose long sleeves and long trousers in the evenings, avoid the beach at dawn and dusk. Remember to brings anti-histamine with you.

Parking

There is secure parking at Tg Leman which is RM8 per day.

Tg Leman Jetty Fee

Unfortunately we can’t pay this – you will need RM4 change + 35c if you wish to use the toilet there.

Transport

Transport can be arranged any day. Depending on the number of people it may be our regular taxi or a mini bus. Pick up from private addresses can be arranged for an extra fee.

Parties

Parties are welcome – please ask us for a special deal / rate. For 24+ people we can guarantee that you will have the whole resort to yourselves.

Children

We cater for children with their own menus, hot water power shower in the family Kampong chalet, cribs available and a baby alarm.

We make children their own dinner at 6:30pm so that parents (and other guests) can enjoy some adult time together during evening meals. Through booking with us you agree to these rules.

Baby sitting service is also available.

Scuba Diving - Only Padi Dive Center on Pulau Sibu

Our dive base has a PADI qualified instructor. We are the only PADI resort on the island. We support the DAN safety initiative. For more information about DAN please *click here*

Although the resort has PADI insurance we recommend that you have your own diving insurance if you wish to dive. We can sign you up at the resort for DAN insurance via our internet connection.

Lunches

We don’t include lunch in the tariff / rate, but serve from an a la carte bar menu between 1-3pm. This is to give flexibility to those who may prefer a light, later lunch (breakfast is served till 11am), or those who have had a busy morning can eat earlier and choose their meal.

Divers & snorkelers may want to take a picnic to one of the many outlying deserted islands.

Evening Meal

We have a 3 course evening meal with a choice between two main courses. We can always cater to vegetarians. At weekends we have our famous Cabanas House Barbeque Buffet.*

Medical Emergencies

Sibu sland Cabanas has its own registered Doctor. Heather has been a GP in the UK & Australia for many years and is the only registered Dr for the whole of Pulau Sibu Island.

She may recommend that you need to leave the island in an emergency; it is highly recommended that you carry travel insurance. Note that SOS (or any medical evacuation company cannot provide instant medical care or evacuation from the island.

We have a good connect with a private medical evacuation company in Singapore that have their own fleet of emergency ambulances & access to air evacuation. It can take time to organise this – especially by air.

We recommend to think carefully about visiting the island if you have a medical condition, or with very young babies.
